Cookie policy

Provisional. The wording on this page is a placeholder written to show the shape of the document. It has not been drafted or checked by a lawyer and must not be relied upon.

The first two sections describe what this website actually does today and were measured from the site itself. The remaining headings are the sections a cookie policy normally has — replace each italic line with your adviser’s wording.

The cookies this site sets

This site sets two cookies, and both are necessary for it to work. Neither is used to advertise, and neither follows a reader to another website.

The first is named shikheecares-session. It keeps a visit joined up from one page to the next. It cannot be read by any script in the page.

The second is named XSRF-TOKEN. It carries a security token that lets the site confirm a form submission genuinely came from a page this site served, which is what stops another website from submitting the enquiry form in someone’s name.

Both expire two hours after they are set. Both are first-party, readable only by this website. Neither holds a name, an email address or anything else typed into the form: what somebody sends is stored on the server, not in their browser. This site also stores nothing in a browser’s local or session storage.

Typefaces, and the one request that leaves this site

The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. That means a reader’s browser fetches the lettering from Google’s servers rather than from this one, and in doing so tells Google the internet address it is asking from. Google sets no cookie as part of this, and receives nothing typed into the site.

It is the only request this site causes a browser to make to anyone else. No advertising network, no analytics service and no social widget is present on any page.

Whether consent is needed

Your adviser’s view on whether the two cookies above, and the font request, require a consent banner in the places your readers are.
